The Tigers are giving up way too much for two free agents to be.

I agree 100%.

Yea I can't see the Tigers trading Porcello, and if they're even considering it, they should call Toronto

Yeah, b/c apparently what we have now on our roster isn't working? How am I being stupid? because i want my team to pull off some trades that I think could help us?

If it were the Yankees making trades like this, most of you would be salivating, and crowning them champs.

Gotta give up something, to get something. Would I like to trade Porcello? no, but if it brings Dunn(and we can sign him to a long term deal), then yeah, I'd probably do the deal.

Tigs have been looking for a guy like Cantu for years, they dont have **** in the minors @ that position. Inge is not the answer either, and is vastly overpaid.

So, they had over $10+ mill invested in Dontrelle and Nate Robertson, and how'd that work out for them?

Porcello is nopt an "ace", like someone here suggested...he's a good young arm, w/mechanics problems. Verlander is an Ace...Porcello, not so much.

obvioulsy hes not an ace now but his potential is off the charts. hes cheap and under team control for 5 years. rizzo would be doing cartwheels if he could get porcello for 2 months of dunn.

There's a reason he's drawn comparisons to the likes of Josh Beckett, Roy Oswalt, and Roy Halladay. I really don't want to give that up for a career .250 hitter, and I sure as schnitzel don't want the Tigers to operate like the Yankees.

Do you know how many "cant miss" or "guys with potential" haven't panned out for anyone? Mike Maroth was a "cant miss", so was Humberto Sanchez, infact, Sanchez was highly regarded as a top tier starter for years to come, guess what happened? he stunk up the place, in the minors for Detroit(hurt his arm too), was shipped off to NY in the Sheffield trade, and where is he now? Probably selling hotdogs @ Marlins Stadium.

No such thing as "cant miss". Tons of guys have had "potential"(Kerry Wood/Mark Prior anyone) and what happened to those guys?

I think you're overestimating Dave Dombrowski. We'd have enough $$$ @ the end of the season to sign Dunn, and a few others, to lt deals. I'm not saying it's a "Dunn" deal(sorry), but, if the Tigs can bring him in, and sign him to an extention before the season ends, that'd be sweet, and well worth the "potential" of Porcello, IMO. Not many young lh of's out there with the pop Dunn has.
