Exactly. No matter what happens, we won't lose here. Great position to be in (especially if the Yanks and Red Sox start a bidding war for Downs, that always ends well).

I still woud push Bautista the hardest though. I seriously doubt a repeat performance & he's 2 years from free agency (meaning comp. picks). He'll be 30 next season & I doubt his stock will ever be higher. I'd trade him now and acquire as many assests as I could. That's just me. He's my favorite player currently on the Jays. I love the guy, but In the grand scheme of things, it is a re-build and he can be valuable for our future.

Depends on what you can get (like everyone else) but yea, I agree. In a perfect world for me the whole lot of these end-of-contract guys would be traded, but there's no way they'll all go. And I think they're going to end up keeping JoBau....hopefully they get blown away with an offer.

btw I meant he could be valuable to our future from the assests we could acquire for him. obviously you don't toss him away, c'mon wamco. of course it matters what teams offer. but I'm saying I would be pressing him most on the phones to rival GMs. the only player I would let loose for next to nothing is Lyle Overbay. If I could get anything for him i'd deal him in a heartbeat.

Yea, I know that's what you meant. We're in agreement

idk wamco...I'm starting to re-consider. last night was pretty impressive...I doubt their going to get a fair offer for him. I may hold him until next season and see if he repeats. only thing is that he's blocking Snider & I'm not in favour of anyone doing that.

John Morosi of Fox Sports has tweeted the Jays are interested in Kelly Johnson, with the idea of moving Aaron Hill to third base. Very interesting.

Yea that would be intriguing.....Johnson is arb-eligible for one more year, and now that Yunel Escobar is in the fold, it's possible that Hechavarria's future is at 2nd, which would move Hill to 3rd at that point anyway...very very interesting....

I'm not sure I buy Johnson's season this year....I'd have to think about this.

I don't care who it's against becuase he's done it all season against everyone. If he scorches bad teams that's even better. that's what shoud happen. just more of a sign that he's on. I don't re-sign him until I see what he does next season. Even with another monster season he'd still only get 24-30 million over 3 or 4 years. So it's not a huge dent.
